Unless your dog is an already established daycare client with us, they will not have direct interaction with other dogs. This is for the safety and comfort of all of our boarding dogs! They will, however, have their own space both inside and outside beside other dogs where they can see all the action going on around them.
We have limited availability in both our small and big dog groups. We suggest that you start your dog as young as possible so they automatically get a spot in our big dog group (if appropriate for their size/age/play style) when the time comes. Call us to check availability as it changes weekly!
Our daycare hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Dogs have free access to both a large indoor and outdoor area during the entire time they are here. Our small dog group has a small window of time during lunch break that they are kenneled for naps and lunches.
We do not have any restrictions on breeds that are allowed in our daycare. We DO have a very careful screening process and gauge a dog’s suitability for daycare based on temperament, play style and overall behavior.
There are many dogs that thrive in a group play setting, and there are some that don’t. Not all dogs like the stimuli that group play provides and for some it’s either too stressful or too over stimulating to handle. We want your dog to have their best experience with us so we will be completely honest with our assessment on your dog’s suitability for daycare. Their first few days are always considered a trial and we make an assessment from there!
We do offer a board and train option, but that is ONLY after both owner and dog complete all levels of our classes. We believe the majority of the training is for the human, in learning how to train their dog!
Both of our trainers have been dog training for over 25 years each. We use a balanced method of training that focuses on building a good dog/human relationship that is mutually respectful.
There are many variations of “service dogs” and not one specific list of requirements to fulfill in order to create a service dog. We have helped train many dogs to assist their owners in various service roles through all of our levels of classes and private training. Our criteria for service dog training is participating in our Real World Obedience class, completing all levels of the AKC CGC certifications, and additionally an option for certification through Therapy Dogs International as a dog/human therapy team.
We offer all levels or our classes at all times. The sessions for Puppy and Basic Obedience run consecutively – as soon as one ends another begins. Our Real World Obedience class is a drop in class that is held every Thursday ongoing. We are always running a waiting list for both puppy and basic – so we suggest you contact us by phone, email or Facebook to get on the list for the upcoming class sessions.
